Our Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
Our Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
At Pride Lands Safari, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. As a proudly Tanzanian-owned tour company, we recognize the immense value of our natural environment, local communities, and cultural heritage. Through responsible tourism practices, we aim to protect and preserve the breathtaking landscapes of Mikumi National Park and its surroundings for future generations, while delivering authentic and enriching experiences to our guests.
Eco-Conscious Accommodation
We operate two eco-friendly facilities designed with nature in mind:
- Pride Lands Safari Lodge: Nestled in the scenic region of Morogoro, just a short drive from Mikumi National Park, our lodge is built using locally sourced materials and sustainable designs. We incorporate solar energy, water conservation techniques, and waste separation systems to minimize our ecological footprint.
- The Grassland Campsite: Located on the buffer zone of Mikumi National Park, this campsite offers an immersive, low-impact way to connect with nature. All camping practices strictly follow environmental guidelines to prevent degradation of wildlife corridors and support local biodiversity.
Wildlife and Habitat Protection
As a company operating near a protected national park, we uphold the highest standards of environmental ethics:
- We strictly follow park regulations, including responsible game viewing, minimal disturbance to wildlife, and designated driving routes.
- Our guides are trained to educate guests on the importance of conservation and the ecological significance of the park’s flora and fauna.
Community Empowerment
Sustainable tourism must benefit the people who call this region home. Pride Lands Safari is proud to engage with and uplift local communities through:
- At Pride Lands Safari, we believe in growing together with the people around us. We actively create employment opportunities by hiring local builders, artisans, and staff from nearby villages to participate in the development and daily operations of our lodge and campsite.
- In addition, we proudly provide free access to clean water from our supply systems to the surrounding community, reducing daily burdens, and strengthening our shared connection to the land.
Low-Impact Travel Practices
We are continually improving our operations to reduce the environmental impact of our tours:
- Group sizes are kept small to ensure quality experiences and limit pressure on natural areas.
- We encourage “leave no trace” practices during all safaris and excursions which means we observe animals from a distance without feeding, chasing, or disturbing them and never leave trash, food waste, or personal belongings behind in the wild.
